Temimah Zucker, LCSW
(ZUCKER PSYCHOTHERAPY, PA)
Whether you are here for yourself, to gather information, or to find support for someone in your life - welcome.
Our relationships with ourselves can be tricky and complicated and therapy can allow for healing that connection. Your journey might be about learning to have a kinder internal dialogue, learning to let go of maladaptive behaviors that have acted as a lifeline, or even just considering the possibility of your life being different. Change can be challenging and I am here to offer guidance, even if only a small part of the individual wants that change.
I specialize in supporting individuals who struggle in their relationship with their bodies - eating disorders (Binge Eating Disorder, Bulimia Nervosa, Anorexia Nervosa Other Specified Feeding and Eating Disorders,) disordered eating, body image concerns, and compulsive exercise. We all have a body and we have all been inundated with messages about how we are “supposed” to be; I am here to help you create a connection with your body that challenges diet culture and allows for more freedom, moving toward recovery.
I also support individuals struggling with grief, adjustment, identity struggles, low self-esteem, trauma, and anxiety. My style includes helping you reach your goals and challenging you, while staunchly remaining non-judgmental. I'm trained in EMDR to support individuals with trauma and use a host of various modalities catered to each individual.
I primarily work virtually with clients living in New Jersey, New York, Connecticut, Vermont, South Carolina and Florida.
(In person meetings may be available in Bergen County, NJ)
My other services include public speaking on the subjects of eating disorders, body image, and body esteem as well as training for parents, staff and communities on these subjects. I also provide parent-coaching on the subject of raising children with healthy and empowered body image and relationship with food. This coaching can also include supporting an individual or child who is currently struggling.
